Andrew Carnegie: The Legacy
Teaching Module Including Computer Game
Usage & Conditions Agreement
Context
This module has been developed in conjunction with Abertay University with the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum and education advisors from high schools and Education Scotland. The development work and production has been funded by the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust, Carnegie UK Trust, The Hunter Foundation and Abertay University. The module is free to schools for educational use only and subject to the following terms.
What is provided
• A written work book including tasks and a quiz
• A computer game complementing the workbook content
• Teacher Guidelines and working examples
How it is provided
The written materials can be provided digitally through the website of the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum and as a hard copy on request. More than one hard copy can be made available by agreement.
The computer game can also be downloaded through the website, from iOS/Mac App Store or Google Play by searching for The Legacy. Including Orthrus or Carnegie in the search will make it quicker to find. Windows 32 or 64bit and Linux (Ubuntu) versions are only available through the website.
Guidance for hardware and for usage is provided separately and schools are required to agree to the disclaimer conditions and responsibilities at the point of download.
Support
The application and usage of the module, including the game, for teaching purposes is the responsibility of the schools involved. Once you have downloaded the game the providers (Orthrus Studios) will pursue any identified faults within the software itself prior to 15 December 2017 but the actual usage and choice of platforms will be the responsibility of the school.
After 15 December any school wishing for ongoing support for the computer game can enter into a separate maintenance agreement with the game developers, Orthrus Studios.
Conditions and Copyright
The copyright and all rights of distribution rest with the producers of the module, written and computer game, which may not be altered, copied or distributed except for the exclusive purpose of teaching in Scotland, and with all necessary credits to the producers. All schools and individuals accessing or downloading these materials are responsible for observing their own internet safety and for ensuring that no inappropriate content is added through any of the game tools.
