Every Spring, Summer and Autumn School holiday these four venues work together to offer free Past-Port Activities to families. This teamwork increases the engagement of families from both near to and far from the Dunfermline Heritage Quarter allowing them to engage with, discover, enjoy and increase their knowledge of our wonderful Dunfermline heritage.
The Past-Port theme for this Spring Holiday is ‘What’s That Noise?’. Families can come and play with instruments at the Andrew Carnegie Museum, learn their names, and sort them into their family of the orchestra. At the Dunfermline Abbey families can make their own organs or other medieval instruments. The Nave is a wonderful space for bouncing sound around, families may be able to measure the speed of sound or learn about the musical notes. Modern music will play a part in the activities happening at the Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries.
We hope they will come and enjoy being a Heritage Quarter Explorer for the day, or two or three.
